TimeSavers: Characters
Dan – the oldest of the TimeSavers. His sister is Annie. He helps out at his parents’ general store after school. He is given a bō staff (a long wooden staff used in martial arts) as his weapon when on TimeSaver missions.
Annie – the second oldest TimeSaver. She also helps in her parents’ general store and tends to look out for Prissy during missions. Her weapon as a TimeSaver is a sword that can be used either two-handed or one-handed.
Sam – Dan and Annie’s cousin and Prissy’s brother. He is just entering adolescence and dealing with all the awkwardness that brings. He finds himself constantly embrassed by the innocent frankness of his sister. His weapon as a TimeSaver is a bow and arrow. It’s also revealed in The Maid of Orléans that he speaks French.
Prissy – the youngest of the TimeSavers at the tender age of six, cousin to Dan and Annie and sister to Sam. Her real name is Priscilla. She is very passionate about God and is often the one who reminds the others that he is with them. She also has a tendency toward innocent frankness, sometimes blurting out things she doesn’t know she shouldn’t say. She is also very polite toward adults, calling them “Miss” or “Mister.” Her weapon as a TimeSaver is the Chakrams of Light, flat discs which can be thrown for long-range attacks or used in close combat. They have a tendency to show extreme power at random moments, surprising even Prissy.
Solania – the Tempea, or Guardian of the Time Stream, for whose sake the kids go on their adventures. Her duty is to protect the entire Time Stream from harm. It is because Dan, Annie, Sam, and Prissy saved her life that she gives them the duty of TimeSavers. She begins to gradually lose power throughout the series as her stones get stolen, but regains it as the stones are restored. Her most powerful weapon is the Tempus Sol (Sun of Time), which holds immense power but is only to be used in times of dire need. It is this, more than the stones, which Kharthanos wants; however, Solania refuses to give it to him. Solania also has a sad past involving some ostracism from her people and the death of her only apprentice.
Kingston – Solania’s childhood friend and love interest. He is a Time Monitor for 1400’s France and operates under the guise of Bertrand Laval, a cloth merchant in Rouen. He speaks fluent Old French and English and is well-known in the town. He also has an apprentice, Karina, who operates under the guise of Mathilde, a local innkeeper, so as to hide her association with Kingston from suspecting eyes.
Anil – Solania’s former apprentice. He was supposed to be a FutureBender, but he defied all his teachers, at which point the elders had Solania become his teacher. He decided he was ready to end his training too early and died after expending too much power in the test. His death greatly impacted Solania.
Kharthanos – the villain of the series. He was once a Tempeos (the male equivalent of a Tempea) but he was exiled from the Fourth Dimension when he misused his powers to change the future of a young girl from our world that he had developed feelings for and caused a major loss of power to the Time Stream. He wants to have revenge for his exile and to have ultimate power over time once again. For this purpose, he needs the Tempus Sol. But since Solania won’t give it to him, he instead sends his minions to steal her stones and then go to the past to mess with historical events, hoping to blackmail her into submitting to him. Solania, who in her weakening state can’t keep up with his antics, commissions Dan, Annie, Sam, and Prissy as TimeSavers to foil his plans.
